Screen Printed illustration put together on adobe photoshop alongside handwritten Title/ Logo, this is the front and back cover for the yet to be released Honey Guide album, “Shores I’m Swimming In” . The Illustration was based off of the psychedelic- like and abstractual style that I created when first starting this project. At first I was only doing concept drawing for the music video I am creating for his song “Okay Lovely”, which I then extended the project further into actually creating the whole image for his album. Which how I see it, is a flurry of lines, symbols, and shapes colliding and uniting together. A format that I thought best as the illustration style because of the album being a reflective piece on his personal struggles and trying to find a balance within himself. Utilizing screen printing as the tool for finalizing the artwork was, I believe, the best choice to clearly establish the concept of ‘layers’ and ‘spontaneity’. Because this work is so personal to the artist I wanted to contain that human tactility in the art. Furthering this ‘human touch’ I had the artist write his artistic name and title of the album out to give it a ‘letter-like’ feeling, because you are in some way about to listen to a form of diary of his.
