House, a series of Illustrated Tiles.

A series of illustrated tiles for my Final Major Project at Arts University Bournemouth. These images explore the ‘House' as a physical architectural structure but also they explore the idea of ‘Home’ as a symbol of emotion, memory and connection. In learning that narrative illustration doesn’t always have to be confined to a flat page in a book, I wanted to explore the possibility that contemporary narrative illustration offers. Tiles are a suitable contextual fit as they are the building blocks of a house. With a decorative and narrative purpose, I aspire for these tiles to be found within the home .
