House of Future Creatives

House of Future Creatives formed part of Rotherham MBC's pilot project for the Children's Capital of Culture 2025. As a team of Creative Producers, we conceived the idea for a large-scale event taking over the stately home Wentworth Woodhouse and filling it with different "zones" of creativity: areas where experts across various creative disciplines led workshops for visitors to participate in. The aim of the event was to empower young people in Rotherham, an area of significant socio-economic deprivation, to take part in the arts and feel that they have a place in the field. I acted as Event Producer, managing the conception, planning and execution of the event. The event sold out and we received significant positive feedback, both from young people who attended and teachers and parents accompanying them. The consensus was that the event had been successful in achieving its aims of opening doors to creativity and the project was repeated the following year for a new cohort of Creative Producers.
