How creativity impacts the world economy

Creativity around the world.

Canva is a platform where users can create stunning designs, even if they don’t have any previous design experience. For them I created the page layout, data vis assets and illustrations for a link building piece that analysed the impact of creativity on the world’s economy.

Page layout.

The page layout is based around the idea of shapes combination. The geometric shapes (circles, squares and rectangles) coexists on the page with more fluid forms that connect the sections. The latter float freely in the white canvas, but at the same time they follow a solid layout structure that lead the user through the page content.
The piece analyses how the government fundings have changed during the last 10 years and the consequences they had on four countries: US, UK, Australia and New Zealand, and gives a glimpse of the situation on other parts of the world.

Data vis.

The data vis section is focused on the importance of investing in creative education, and illustrates the amount of university degrees and courses, the bachelor degrees granted and the fine art galleries in US, UK, Australia and New Zealand. The visuals are designed to reflect the topics – the amount of degrees and courses are represented with books, the bachelor degrees percentages with bachelor’s hats and the number of fine art galleries with pedestals.

Illustrations.

The illustrations represent four Nobel Prize winners that used their creativity to tackle existing problems or identify new ground to break – Rudyard Kipling, Patrick White, Wole Soyinka and Bob Dylan.
