Hundertwasse Mural

  • Sarah Dixon

Some of my work is collaborative, working with clients. In this really lovely project I helped design a colourful addition to a home with Natasha Wilson, based on Hundertwasser style which was suggested to her by her friend Gail Bradbrook. The house was being upgraded with insulation render and new paint so using the paint palette from Johnstone's Paint she decided to add a decorative update to go with the improved insulation. I made mock-ups in Photoshop and this helped visualise for Natasha how the colours and pattern would look. We worked together on details such as making sure the wall next to the kitchen would reflect a warm light, and how the garden area would work with different colourways. The painting contractor used the mockups to apply the design. The finished decoration makes a strong and vibrant impact and has been broadly welcomed by the local community.
