This exhibition showcases the work of a small group of emerging Mexican artists and their first forays into New Media Art. Esta exhibición presenta el trabajo de artistas mexicanos emergentes en el campo de los nuevos medios.
Who am I in 2020? How do I handle the quarantine, and the social and health risks currently afflicting Mexico? The answers are as varied as the artists in this exhibition. Some attempt to warn us about the risks of the body being exploited in social media, others look at their environments, the soundscapes around them, others look inward into their spiritual life and their feelings. Each artwork a different approach and provide either a cathartic tool or a weapon to fight back.
¿Quién soy durante el 2020? ¿Cómo navego el aislamiento y los riesgos sociales y físicos de México? Las respuestas son tan variadas como sus autores. Unos buscan alertarnos sobre los riesgos de la explotación del cuerpo en redes sociales, otros buscan analizan sus espacios y sonidos, otros van hacia adentro, a su espiritualidad o sentimientos. Cada obra nos da un nuevo punto de vista y funcionan como herramienta catártica o de combate contra lo que nos afecta.
