The concept of this video was to focus on the shapes, textures and architecture of London that are familiar to me. I wanted the building to be the protagonist and to embed the performance within them so I played with rotating angles and wide shots and placed the artist within them. The lyrics of the song talk about being visible but still a stranger so I obscured the artist face in shadow and through screens for the majority of the shots to convey this message. The windmill that can be seen towards the end of the video can be found deep within the estate in which this video was shot. It has recently been renovated and now produces flour. I included it in the video now just because it is bizarrely and beautifully juxtapositioned but also as an example of the kind of beautiful and interesting things you can come across if you venture past the facade of south-London.
