Illustrated Catalog of Plants; Huapalcalco, Hidalgo

  • Luisa Rodriguez

In this fascinating project, I had the responsibility of leading the design and official image of the book. This included creating the illustration for the front and back covers, as well as closely collaborating with the talented designer Karen Selene Rojo on editorial design and layout. "Huapalcalco Plant Catalog" is a free book for Environmental Education, marking the first environmental effort in Huapalcalco. It is a project led by Niebla y Tiempo A.C., showcasing the zoning of the site, featuring over eighty species with information and photographs. The book includes a photographic appendix of other organisms and an ethnobotanical approach with individuals from Huapalcalco, particularly midwife Mrs. Guadalupe Soto. The publication of this catalog is a social effort highlighting the environmental importance of the Huapalcalco archaeological site. Over the years, the society of Tulancingo has demonstrated genuine interest in our cultural heritage. Efforts from various sectors have come together to raise awareness about the significance of the Huapalcalco Heritage Landscape for the small city.
