Composed by Rosie Anne Peat (WildRosei) I learnt the piano for 16 years before moving to University and not touching the piano for 4 years. I achieved Grade 8 piano, attempted the Performance Grade but did not pass. At the point, I was frustrated with practicing and had lost my passion for playing the piano. In my last two years of University, I applied to use the universities piano space and would occasionally practice but still did not have the passion I once had. It was not until I was in the room with my friends and they looked like they were having so much fun playing modern pop songs and I was unable to join in that I was suddenly saddened by my lost ability to sight-read music. I only knew classical songs but without reading the music, I couldn't remember anything. I had spent 16 years learning and I had nothing to show for it. I was dissapointed in myself. I wanted to play more than anything else but I had graduated and was now stressed with finding a job. I remember when I used to play the piano, I loved messing around with the notes and seeing what songs could come out of it. I even tried to compose on paper once, but I gave up. It was not until Covid-19 that it gave me a chance to sit down and thought this is the time I will get myself a Piano and do what I have been wanting to do this whole time. Which is exactly what I did! As soon as I got that piano, I started playing with notes, playing old classical tunes. Soon, I had started composing a couple of pieces which I was proud of. Now I am sharing them with you.
