The Inspiration. Shortly after the massive Paris fire that nearly destroyed the Notre Dame Cathedral many of the Paris based luxury goods brands pledged millions of dollars towards the restoration. This got me thinking… What art would really represent the generosity of the brands combined with this historic incident? The original concept was to include the front glass text": ”Propriété de la Cathédrale Notre Dame”. However I felt that; “In Case of Emergency Break Glass” has greater connection to a non French speaking audience. It was this idea that led to the ‘Veuve Clicquot” fire extinguishers that I actually released prior to these pieces.
