In The Valley is where the echoes of longing and nostalgia is met with a reflection of reality. It is about a homecoming after an absence of nearly a decade and the bittersweetness that is rarely spoken about.
I went back home to my family that still reside in both Kathmandu and Pokhara valleys in Nepal after about 9 years. This was after my grandfather and my great grandmother had passed and after the 2015 earthquake that pushed me to confront reality- realise that nothing remains as still as you remember it and resisting the pull of time and change leads only to more heartbreak.
