Instagram Campaign for Shelter

  • Kirsten Procter

In my 2nd year I was given a brief by Shelter to create a campaign that reduced the stigma that surrounds social housing. I chose to focus my campaign on social housing, pet ownership and mental well-being. "It has been proven that there is a correlation between pet ownership and improved mental well-being. Pets have been shown to distract people from upsetting symptoms and experiences, as well as providing a source of comfort. There are also benefits to owning a pet when living in social housing. Pet ownership promotes social interaction and the longer tenancies make it easier to make a house a home for both you and your pet. These themes are explored and highlight the positives of life in social housing. The case study for the campaign is Judy. Judy and her dogs, Millie and Taffy, live on The World’s End Estate in Chelsea. After spending time with Judy it became apparent that she enjoys living there and just how much Millie and Taffy enrich her life. #happypawsandmyownfrontdoor"
