Inspired by people on the autism spectrum and the effectiveness of deep pressure therapy, everything is going to be okay is a commentary on the everyday overstimulation that has come to be thought of as ‘normal’ in our society. With this interactive art installation, we (a group of 4 ) ask the viewer to enact and reflect on these ideas. After experiencing a sensory overload in the overstimulation booth, they then both figuratively and literally put their head in the clouds. With the assistance of deep pressure therapy (caused by air pressure), administered in the comfort and tranquility of a cloud hug, they are invited to momentarily escape their physical reality and imagine something else in its place.
