Interior Design Project

This is a mood board of a Japandi living space. I was inspired by the image on the right- hand side, which is a tranquil, cool, modern and minimal living space. Similarly, I was also inspired by the image on the left-hand side which is a warm, minimalist and cosy living area. I decided to use muted blue and brown as the dominant colours and cream and grey as secondary colours. They are all-natural calming colours, which can give the clients a feeling of zen and tranquillity. I chose the mink sofa made of cotton linen blend mix to go alongside the armchair in blue, to create a natural tactile calm feeling for the client. The dark wooden floor brings the space together and allows the room to convey a cosy warmth. The wooden sideboard will be styled with different textured vases and traditional natural foliage. There will be bamboo and paper pendant lights hung from the ceiling to create a central focal point within the living space. Raw textured linen cushions and blankets will be layered over the sofa and chair to add scandi pastel and rich warm Japanese tones to tie the Japandi space together, forming a warm, calming environment to relax in. Traditional white maple and olive trees will be placed in textured concrete and rattan planters. A brown circular rattan rug will be placed between the chair and sofa to create shape and form within the space.
