Happy #InternationalNurseDay! Having a rare disease (#MuscularDystrophy) and being #HighRiskCovid19), I have to deal with #nurses more than most in my life. With my #disability, I’m forever grateful to them (and the #NHS) –and to all the specialists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, #MentalHealth therapists, etc.– for supporting me to stay healthy . Thanks!
But I would like to especially say big #ThankYou to ALL the Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (#BIPOC) nurses and #disablednurses across the world, as no one else is saying so. I hear you, I see you, I feel you, and I got you.
It is important for me to vocalise this (and use my privilege and power to speak for those who can’t) and stand up for #MedicalJustice because I wish to #DecolonizeMedicine.
Enough said.
