International Students' Guide - Informative and supportive guide for International Students at University of the Arts London (UAL)

  • Catherine Uren
After the success of the Mental Wellbeing Zine as a supportive resource in the student body, the need was identified for a resource specifically for UAL's International Student body.
This feedback was mainly collected via face to face interactions as well as online feedback collection platforms I set up, like Typeform and SurveyMonkey.
UAL is a diverse institution, and students from over 130 countries form part of their student body. Being an International Student brings with it specific challenges, as well as the usual struggles faced by home students, like moving and transitioning to higher education.
It was my responsibility to copywrite the guide, research and identify key areas for inclusion through feedback collection and my own experience with international students.
The resource proved really successful, and continues to be reordered throughout the year. Central UAL has also identified the success and value of the guide, as they continue to request more copies and have subsequently invested in the development of similar resources.
