Intertwine | Upholstery

Intertwine is a narrative exploring connections, inspired by contrasting expressive marks and structure to represent the interlinking narrative between architecture and nature, culture and people. By exploring the relationship between the visual and tactile qualities of fabric construction, I seek to ensure longevity within my designs.
My visual research identifies where the structural framework of buildings, their rough textures and jagged lines, are equally found in the natural environment. This led me to look at the overlap between interlinking lines in architecture and natural lines, such as the cactus’s natural framework which has created a fuzz and softer side to my project. This dirctly inspired my Jacquard designs.
