A closer look at the rising cool-girl accessories brand with a global exclusive capsule
Even if you don’t know the name BY FAR yet, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve seen their nostalgic, minimalistic designs gracing the feet of the influencers or editors in your social media feed.
After building up a cult following in just a few seasons, the brand — founded by twin sisters Valentina Bezuhanova and Sabina Gyosheva, and their best friend Denitsa Bumbarova — are this season dipping their toes into another category for the first time: handbags. They’ve also dreamed up three global exclusive styles just for Lane Crawford, offering up a 90s shoulder bag, a mini top-handle bag and a pair of strappy high-heel sandals, all in gloriously glittering silver. Marking the celebration, we had a quick chat with co-founder Bezuhanova.

On working alongside your sister and your best friend…

“We love sharing this journey together. It’s great because it’s very easy to create when you have the same mindset about visuals and about dreams and goals for BY FAR. We handle different areas within the business. Denitsa is our designer, Sabina is the CEO and I oversee the brand image and the marketing. Those roles are super natural to each of us and we have complete trust to each other.”

On how building BY FAR is like raising a child…

“Our team is spread around the globe: Australia, Bulgaria, Portugal and Paris. So our everyday routine is pretty much video calls and group chats, and involves a lot of travelling. When we’re in one city, we always live together with all our kids, which is super crazy and fun at the same time. Our day starts at 6:30 with prepping the kids for school and answering urgent emails. After we take them to school, we have an hour for exercise and then we’re off to the studio. Building this brand has been like raising a kid — it takes 100 per cent of our time but it doesn’t feel like work because it’s what we love.”

On celebrating milestones together…

“We have big dreams for BY FAR and specific milestones to get there. Each time we reach those milestones we have a group chat celebration, filled with emojis — then we call each other and start screaming and jumping around!”
