S1X is about intellectual pursuit, community, and self-expression. We create collections of limited edition prints and apparel in collaboration with contemporary artists available at studio-1x.com.

ABOUT STUDIO-1X

Tomorrow we are launching Studio-1X with our first collection, 'Industry Standards'. We're offering early access to The Dots community today with the password: PARADOX at studio-1x.com.

This project was born from years of philosophical musings on the state of our world, coming to the conclusion that polarization and ignorance are two of the largest issues we face as a society. We wanted to build a company that addressed this problem through culture, by recognizing that artists are harbingers for social change, and that fashion brands are really in the business of selling dreams, and we have to take more conscious responsibility for what those dreams represent.

The result is a brand designed by, and for, the next generation of cultural consumers in the nexus of art, fashion, and social impact. Each of our collections explores a different social issue. We work with contemporary artists that research the phenomena in question to produce limited edition prints and apparel, which are released in bi-weekly drops.

ABOUT COLLECTION 01: INDUSTRY STANDARDS

‘Industry standards’ is S1X’s debut collection, launching on June 19th. The collection features four artists, and a total of 11 unique items, released in five, bi-weekly drops. Each drop’s items are marketed one week in advance, and available for purchase for one week, creating a continuous, two-week cycle.

COLLECTION INTRODUCTION

‘Kitsch’, an aesthetic ideal “in which shit is denied and everyone acts as though it did not exist” (as defined by Milan Kundera) is fittingly applicable to the commercial culture of today. We are conscious of the voluntary blindfolding of ourselves that shields us from the grotesque truths that enable our everyday lives to go on without much disruption. Society has unequivocally accepted principles that destroy lives for the production of goods. We worship at the image of the jet-setter, and squirm at the confrontation that the concept of ‘industry’ has been laced in so much of the ugly sides of humanity.

In collaboration with four contemporary artists, INDUSTRY STANDARDS uncovers and explores the central dogma of our paradoxical existence. We acknowledge how fitting it is that we are launching a collection of items with the sole purpose of questioning the need for collecting items. We question the breadth and width of our behavior as consumers, address- ing the paradoxes and asking if the problem is that we can’t change, or that we don’t want to change. We uncover the complexity in supply chains, tracing the realities that eventually deliver the avocado toast to your brunch table.
ABOUT DROP 01: LEO LUCCIONI + STUDIO-1X

Our first drop features two items:
1. 'Industry Standards' hoodie by Studio-1X, edition of 50
2. 'Hell Station, somewhere, somewhere' by Leo Luccioni, a photolithographic print edition of 40
'INDUSTRY STANDARDS' HOODIE BY S1X (EDITION OF 50)

“Is it that we can’t change, or that we don’t want to change?” The central question that inspired the collection. The hoodie’s composition is 70% organic cotton and 30% recycled polyester. The garment will be shipped with an edition certificate within one week after the sales period has closed.
'HELL STATION, SOMEWHERE, SOMEWHERE' BY LEO LUCCIONI (EDITION OF 40)

The title of the work, 'Hell station somewhere' is a tribute to the book 'Twentysix Gasoline Stations' by pop artist Ed Ruscha. The drawing depicts a 3D model of a Shell Company gas station, showing the logo without the S.

This print edition is printed by hand using a photo-lithographic transfer method on 280g pure cotton paper. It is delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
