ISTD Shaping the World: The Art of War
The 2022 ISTD ‘Shaping the World’ brief challenged students to choose one significant publication from the ‘100 Books That Changed the World’ and to investigate the significance of the work at the time of publication and its subsequent influence in shaping world views. I designed and constructed a bold and playful printed publication based on the ancient treatise ‘The Art of War’ by Sun tzu (512 BCE).
It focuses upon on how the treatise can be used and adapted to our everyday lives. It is targeted towards those who are seeking to have a different perspective on how to deal with conflicts – whether that is an individual’s battles with themselves, competitors, or nature, this book gives advice on how to approach conflict in life.
