MNEK’S NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR HIS TRACK ‘GIRLFRIEND’ SHOWS HOWMEN ARE TRASHIN A CO- DIRECTING COLLAB WITH THE GRAFT’S JORDAN ROSSI. The video was a true collab between MNEK and The Graft’s Jordan Rossi. On the collaboration Jordan said, “It was a really natural fit. We both vibed off each other and pushed each other forwards. I prepare meticulously and Uzo is full of ideas and always willing to listen so it made for a great partnership.” The video is a collage of both narrative and performance setups reminiscent of old school 1990s music videos that inspired both Jordan and MNEK. “Building the aesthetic was one of my favourite parts of the process. Uzo had a really clear idea of what he wanted going in, so it was great to build on that and develop it further. I grew up on those old school 90s videos that everyone remembers from George Michael and Usher to Kelis and Destiny’s Child. It was really fun going back and forth with all these references and seeing how we could use them to elevate our video to the next level.” – Jordan Rossi Credits Director: Jordan Rossi Producer: Eleri Evans DOP: James Medcraft Production Designer: Amy Exton Stylist: P.C.
