Julien Hauchecorne, an independant furniture and antiques dealer, has approached us to come up with a fresh identity and business card design for his new venture as a furniture designer. Operating on a highly visual market of designer objects, he needed something sleek and iconic, differentiating him from competition and conveying the message of quality, expertise and trust.

The logotype derived from the combination of Julien’s initials and the use of multiple radical triangles - the client’s favourite shape. To soften and personalise the look, we’ve added Julien's handwritten signature. The use of modern-looking Minion Pro font, designed by Robert Slimbach, completes the identity giving it a contemporary feel.

The luxurious business cards are printed on two different Colorplan papers manufactured by GF Smith, which are duplexed to reach a total of 700 gsm thickness. The Ebony black paper on the contact detail side of the card is embossed with a subtle Coltskin pattern, and a foil blocking technique is used for the text and brand marks on each side of the sheets. Additionally, to create a subtle but noticeable gradient of colour between all four edges of the card, four different colour metallic Foilco foils, from gold to copper, are applied onto each side of the card using a fore-edge printing process.
