Hazelnut shells make up more than 50% of the total weight of the hazelnut. Around 1 million tonnes of hazelnuts are produced every year, meaning more than 1 million tonnes of hazelnut shells can go to waste. Kabuk is a circular material that is made out of hazelnut shells.
