Gender – Roles. Norms – Society. Culture – Stereotypes. Gen Z. finds itself confronted with the unlimited yet pre-structured. “The world today allows us to be what and who we want to be, yet are these options stigmatised by pre-loved legacies of our parents and grandparents. Our generation might be inclusive and open-minded, discussing what matters and re-evaluating the ‘norm’. We accept and we welcome. But do others accept us too? In this editorial we played with the terms ‘masculinity’ and ‘femininity’, questioning their expected realities and aesthetics. Our male models are swathed in a shimmer of softness and fragility, creating a symbiosis of traditional gender roles. The females are wrapped in oversizes and the androgynous. What is there, within the human species, that needs to be labelled and discussed? We want to be, explore and love.”
