Kankyō Ongaku - Ambient Music, Space and Urbanity
A long form article I wrote in November 2018 on ambient music, primarily focused on the 'environmental music' scene born in 80's Japan. Looks into ambient's relationship to tangible spaces, architecture and the noise of late capitalism, while exploring ties to contemporary scenes (New Atlantis, Yamaneko, Local Action etc.)
