This is my response to the second chapter of Gyles Lingwood and Roger Horberry's copywriting book Read Me. For the third task, we were asked to pick a short 100-word piece of copy. Make recommendations of what needs to be changed and then write a new version of the copy and make improvements on the original. I chose to use a kid's sleepwear brand as a reference. I kept the original idea and core messages and told a story about the patterns and prints they used. In task four, we were given copy from an airline's print ad. As well as updating the tone of voice to be more energetic. I also re-arranged the copy using the goal > step one > step two > result formula. Here's what I came up with:
