This video took inspiration from the recent works of the hip-hop group Brockhampton. Their videos for STAR and GOLD, and the old, VHS aesthetic that they had intrigued me, so I sought to work it into my own project.
Each little verse has a different beat under it, so I decided to visually match that with a different scene for each verse. What keeps it coherent is that my movements within the frame follow through between scenes, almost making it seamless.
Over all, the colours are flat, similar to how it would be on VHS, and I also included grain as well as the tape distortion that 'shifts' rows of the frame to the side.
