Kings and Queens

  • Meisha Mutema

Kings and queens is a documentary inspired fashion film that was created by a small company called 'Luchrimedia' it was created as a final year project. The theme of this project was titled kings and Queens because it was a documentary on racism and colourism within the UK and the words 'king' and queen' are a term used by black people to uplift each other. The director of the short film came to me with his vision of wanting to create something that was fashionable uplifting and artistic. I worked as the creative director and visual stylist for this film and my job was to bring the fashion and artistic elements of the visual story telling to life.
