A recent project, the curation of the Graphic Design Degree Show Identity, allowed for a space of meticulous and joyful signage, neatly typeset captions and an exciting visitor experience. It was an amazing opportunity in which I learnt how to apply situational design, as well as how design can not only shape but also be shaped by the space it exists in. We successfully were able to reflect our year group, taking a playful yet relevant approach to the brief. We also learnt how to prioritise and distribute mine and my fellow designers’ tasks, ensuring we hit our tight deadlines on top of finishing multiple other briefs for our final year at university.
