Food and portrait photographer Steve Ryan recently shot the series, 'The real rock stars of the kitchen' which is a documentary project about various kitchen porters in restaurants around London including Caravan, Benares, Aqua Shard, Oxo Tower, and Bilxen. The porters can wash up to 4000 dishes per day.
"They go by a myriad of names; KP's, Dishies, Pot Washers, Underwater Ceramic Technicians, these lynchpins of the back of house are the indispensible unsung heroes of any kitchen brigade."
Steve is one of the founders of the food culture magazine, Root + Bone and shoots the majority of the imagery.
