Art Director for independent music festival Knee Deep held near Liskeard in Cornwall. Held over 2 days and nights for around 1200 people, it was a family friendly festival held at the end of August. The line up was curated by 3 friends from Cornwall who worked in the music industry and had a great knack for spotting acts who would go on to be huge names. Some KD line up acts include; Loyle Carner, Glass Animals, Ross From Friends, Shy Girl, Whitney, Kae Tempest, Sports Team, Fontaines DC, Nubya Garcia, Patrick Wolf, Kojaque, Sorry, Squid, The Magic Gang, Matt Maltese, Bullion, Black Midi, Emma Jane Thackeray In 2018 I came onboard the small team of 3 festival cofounders to direct the festival site design and contribute to the online/onsite art direction and branding of the event. I initiated a scheme to fund artists contributions to the site build. Artists were invited to submit proposals for a predetermined artist’s grant. Alongside general collaborating with the co-founders in organisational and creative direction tasks, my responsibilities included managing the site build volunteers/decor projects, co-managing the overall festival build/programming, budgeting site decoration, liaising with collaborators, organising traders and contractors. We also hosted warm up gigs to promote the festival locally in independent venues and collaborated with Plymouth College of art students to provide a scheme for them to contribute to the site design. The branding of the festival was collaborative; we commissioned artists Alexander Medel in 2018 and Kris Andrew Small in 2019 to design our posters, website, and templates for social assets. I designed most festival site areas, sourced props/build materials from around London/Cornwall to create a fun atmosphere on the farm. We had two main stages; The Deep Stage/The Knee Stage, a crafts/yoga/spoken word 'DIY Space', The Lamb & Mint Bar DJs, The late night Aval Disco in an old barn, and Deep Cuts was the main late night dance tent.Art Director for independent music festival Knee Deep held near Liskeard in Cornwall.
