This was a small scale commercial hospitality project, located in the heart of Newtown, Sydney. This is the sister cafe to 212 Blu, and operates as a take-away style cafe bar, occupying a 24m2 footprint.

With a small budget and extremely short time frame, the client outlined that the cafe was to operate as a take-away style bar, serving freshly baked goods, specialty coffee and fresh juices. The small 24m2 space was to allow room for barista, cook and counter operator. The space was essentially divided in half, providing enough room for patrons to sit at both the espresso bar and floating low stools positioned opposite. The kitchen was designed to be easily accessible, and offer ample storage for equipment and produce. It was important to create an open feel for this cosy space, and through the continuation of the wall tiles to ceiling height and working with a minimal and monochromatic scheme, enabled the space to feel light and airy throughout.
