L1 house conceptual design

  • M Masha WAKULA
Conceptual architectural project of a house in Lisniki village in Kyiv urban area. The plans represent the BIM model in progress phase. The model is built in Graphisoft ArchiCAD and is a basic BIM model. The visualisations are made in Artlantis. I worked on this project in 2013-2014. The project basically consists of two parts – reconstruction and rehabilitation of the existing building (constructed in 1990s, but not finished) and the extension. The house is not built. The house wasn’t supposed to be big, but it should have combined the needs and be comfortable for 2 families and 3 generations. As it was designed, the existing building should have served as a sleeping area for the families. The extension should have united the family in its activities, time leisure and guests hosting. The extension is designed to be full of light and space that flows into each other and creates comfortable zoning without strict divisions where it’s possible. The building also concentrates a lot of open terraces around itself for outdoor leisure in warm seasons.
The project phase consisted of representing client’s wishes in design and search of optimal design solutions (on base of economical and comfort criteria), drafting of floor plans and creating the BIM model of the house. At the same time the subcontractors were involved at an early design phase to achieve the most exact design solutions in BIM model, for example the company specializing in modern brick wall constructions, the company specializing in roof solutions and the company specializing in modern window and door solutions. The project phase also included preliminary interior design solutions in order to achieve the best representation of clients wishes for the future house.
