Classroom scientific experiments are boring, out of context, difficult to set up and are confined to 1 or 2 lessons under the supervision of a teacher with often no opportunity to interact, revise or collaborate outside of the classroom.
Over a 48 hour period, we worked to design and developed a prototype of our product LabShare, an app where KS4 students can learn how experiments can work outside the classroom.
At the end of the hackathon we presented LabShare in front of a panel of judges made up of Ed-tech investors, startup owners and mentors, with the winning presentation getting £1000 investment as well as 6 months mentoring.
