“The deep blue of the walls inside the school sang to me as I peered into a classroom. The heat was sharp and dry as we explored the grounds. I wandered around slowly, taking in tableaus of friendship groups who were breaking between lessons. It’s another reason I love the heat, it’s so social.

Curious and kind faces greeted me as I played charades and we took pictures together. What impressed me so much was the confidence and strength of many of the young people.

A 'Wash club' gave a powerful performance about how WaterAid had enabled them to go to school. Now they had time to study, before they were spending most of their day collecting water.

I am someone who rarely leaves the house without a bottle of water in hand, it made me reflect on how I take that for granted.”
