Legoland 2015

3D modelling, motion design and graphic design for Lego promotional campaign

Overview: I was hired as 3D and motion graphics specialist for a creative agency within Pinewood studios, working in a busy fast paced environment, often on several projects at once for some of their biggest clients such as Origin, the InHealth group, and Lego group. We were contracted by Legoland Windsor to design their 2015 promotional campaign, purposed to unveil 5+ new and improved attractions and facilities
My Role: 3D Modeller & Graphic Designer
Tools: Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Maya

Rides

I researched the most popular iconic rides and attractions from Legoland theme parks across the globe as each theme park varies in its selection, while specific rides have slight visual differences at each location. I combined the best elements to fit the desired form and accompanying photography while keeping visual consistency to the new and improved attractions being unveiled at the Windsor location.

Modelling

I combined the most fitting variations of each iconic ride in my designs before proceeding to build them as 3D models using Maya. We went through some minor trail and error before we could calculate the perfect angles needed for the banner design. After rendering the models at the required angles in high quality, I then assisted the rest of the team with the remaining graphic design and illustration work. This was the centre piece of the promotional campaign and was displayed on the large scale banners and posters in and outside of the theme park.

Design

I was also provided with digital assets from the Lego group them selves such as mini figure models to rig, pose and render for use throughout maps, leaflets and various other print materials distributed and displayed around the theme park
