I’ve always loved the work of Charles and Ray Eames. They revolutionised the way we view the beauty in common objects, from their world famous lounge chair and ottoman to the DSR chair. In this personal project I challenged myself to design an editorial spread which celebrates the originality of the Eames design ethos. The freedom to furnish your home which reflects your lifestyle or your place in the social class. Whether that be minimalism or modernism. Using the line ‘life made simple’ was to invoke a sense of irony as Eames furniture wasn’t simple but very complex in an engineering point of view yet keep the simple design aesthetic within the home, which made the work of Charles and Ray Eames so prolific. This is why their designs are treated to a high standard and replicated by many brand including IKEA and John Lewis.
