Light of the world

“Light of the world” I’ve been reading the Bible a lot lately and I’m beginning to love it more and more each day. Matthew 5:15-16 says “No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl; but instead it is put on a lampstand, where it gives light for everyone in the house. In the same way, your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.” ??? Is your lamp under a bowl??? Or on a lampstand??? I’ve come to understand our light as our works, as what we do. Are they honouring our Father or just us? Who do we create for? Why do we create? Who is our works reflecting? That aside, are we using our gifts or we have covered it with a cloak of judgments. Are we becoming what we ought to become. The purpose of a lamp is to bring light and life. If we’re not bringing light and life into this world, we are acting out of our purposes.
