Lips too chilled-Fiction

  • Coral Liu
The project is my second year course(Camberwell College of Arts) project for a book--'Lips too chilled' by Matsuo Basho (Little black classics published by Penguin). Five illustrations were created from Basho's haikus, using haikus as 'puzzles to create a new story in each image, yet still poetic. 'Working on the images in layers with acrylics and the Photoshop, I chose a set of colors as a color palette for the series--pink for cherry blossoms, blue for sky and river, white for snow and clouds, black for night and cores, grey for grief and stones. It's a beloved series among classmates and tutors from our course.
