Localized Modernism

This graduation collection uses modernist principles of design (simplicity & refinement, nothing-to-hide, clean lines) to reimagine the Vietnamese national dress and Vietnamese H'mong ethnic community's uniform. Whilst the collection pays tribute to the past by retaining the traditional elegance of the national dress and incorporating elements inspired by ethnic textiles, it also celebrates modernity through the use of crisp white pleats and a loosened silhouette, which allows a modern woman to wear the garments with ease and comfort.
