Logo and label design, product names, and packaging copy for Southsea Brewing Co.

Southsea Brewing Co. make modern beers in an historic location. Their brewery is sited in a casemate (a vaulted chamber for cannons) within Southsea Castle, a Tudor fortification on the coastline of Portsmouth. The logo is a visual portmanteau of a cannon and a beer bottle, with the cap playfully popping off as if it’s been fired. Nice. The wave motif is a nod to the brewery’s seaside location, and the distressed textures evoke the worn walls of Southsea Castle. My proudest name: ‘Weisscaps’. It references the hefeweizen beer style, and the foam at the crest of a wave (whitecap). Plus, the bottle has a white cap. Perfect. Other tasty pint-sized bits of copywriting on the labels include a ‘Brews & News’ CTA and the ‘Crafted in the Castle’ banner.
