Lost in the noise

  • Enrico Artuso

Lost in the noise is a documentary series about people whose voices are lost in the noise of the loud world we live in, and is about letting people know that they are not alone in what they are going through. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. The films were directed by Enrico Artuso and produced by Neave Irvine and Fraser Young. BAFTA award-winning filmmaker Christopher Morris is on board as Executive Producer. The films were kindly made possible by the School of Film and Television of Falmouth University, UK.

The episodes

Each of the contributors has faced a different kind of hardship in their life, and has managed to carry on, and not let themselves be defined by what has happened to them.
The stories told here are real, and come from the people who lived them. They reveal what it means to be a survivor, whether it be sexual assault, a disability, or a different faith.

The visual style

The visual style is inspired by the magazine Voices.
Renaissance painting was also referenced, especially by creating moving still lives that complement and add to the contributors’ stories, and by using soft, diffused lighting on the contributors.
