Luxury Chocolates and Desserts

The opulence and tactile qualities were the topic of Alexandra's Final Major Project, where she has explored the sensual elements that are experienced when viewing, and interacting with her subject. Such as the sound qualities when snapping a bar of chocolate, the way a dessert can make the consumer feel, the look and tactility of their packaging, and in the manufacture and design of them.   She explored these qualities and how they can translate into drawings were crucial steps in influencing her material and colour choices. Using upholstery fabrics, along side hard surfaces, Alexandra has explored recreating the tactility found within the chocolates and desserts along with exploring how she can stimulate the senses in a similar way to her subject.
