As part of the Centre for Contemporary Chinese Art's Chinese New Year programme in 2017, I designed and delivered Make Some Noise! A workshop centred around Makey Makeys - a tool which allows you to connect everyday objects to computer programmes. The workshop was designed to be experimental and light-hearted, allowing children and their guardians to explore the sounds in their day to day life, while learning more about digital technologies and basic electrical circuits in a casual environment. Everyone was encouraged to make their own "buttons" - any conductive material (including humans) that would be used to trigger a sound they had recorded using the same found materials. At the end of the workshop, the group created a sound sequence that brought together everyones favourite noises and objects!
