In this institutional design project I set out to create a music conservatory in the seaside town of Margate, UK. Being my most recent project, my skills in Rhinoceros and 3ds Max are highlighted in both renderings of the reception and recital space. For the site, I chose two of the five historical Thanet Press buildings on Union Crescent. The entirety of the site spans through five large buildings dating from 1780-1930. The two I decided to use are actually extensions of the original building. Both buildings have a ceiling height of around 4.5 meters, making these spaces perfect for practice halls and a music venue. They are clad with original brickwork and beautiful steel framed windows, allowing a copious amount of natural light into the space.
