My intention of creating this story is to protest one of the controversial topic of the regeneration elephant and castle shopping centre. In this generation, can’t we straight into happiness in the capitalist world? It reflected to the regeneration in elephant and castle, why people think that regeneration is always better than stay original? Can’t we stay as usual as we do? Can’t we protect the culture and the area for our next generation? Is happiness and be yourself that hard in this capitalistic world In this generation, is materialism are the only path of making human - being’s life more enjoyable? How could you ever be satisfied if you believe in the materialistic values of a society that tells you the only path to happiness is through getting and being more. More what? More money, more fancy clothes, more social media’s likes. The girl in the video is trying to be real and to become truly happy and fulfilled, trying to counterbalance society’s conditions and find ways of overcoming the capitalist world, we are surrounding in a overload information environments, we spend 25% of their time on social networking platforms, social medias like instagrams, facebook, twitter release a million posts daily, posts of what’s happening of this society, we instead of spending time in digital informations more than see the world from our eyes. We can’t rebel to social media or else we will isolate by this capitalistic world and people around us. The girl dancing around the old shopping centre, she doesn’t care if the shopping centre is fancy of not, unless the memories and friendships are still remain in the shopping centre. Is it? She hates the world, she hates the pressure from the digital world. In the video, Her truly happiness trapped in a box which referred to our generation trap in the capitalistic world. The ink dripping down on the board represent true happiness are no longer exist in this world, if we don’t let ourselves out form addiction in this information tech knowledge world.
