Matriarchal Wales

Wales is one of the few matriarchal nations in the world - my project set out to illustrate the power and importance of women in Wales. Being a proud Welsh woman myself the imagery was deeply personal, exploring my own identity and heritage as well as encapsulating a sentiment ingrained into our nation. The women I documented became representative of how gender as a whole has played such a pivotal role in our history and culture.
