MDES : Journey of Senses (2020)

My MDes final collection 'Journey of Senses' is inspired by the rural Welsh landscapes and whose the way in which we experience the natural world. My practice is experiential; Walking is integral to my practice and used to draw inspiration from natural environments, influencing my drawings, paintings and patterns. Welsh landscapes are a predominant source of inspiration including the stretching coastlines, the rolling hills, magnificent rock-faces and waterfalls of the Brecon Beacons. My artworks are deeply personal, reflecting her emotional and physical connection to my surroundings. My ambition is to share with the audience, the uniqueness of my own encounters so that they too may be moved to recognise the strangely familiar and be encouraged to experience the joy of reconnecting with natural environments.
