Media Assistant Needed

JAA is one of the longest standing independent media agencies in the UK. We have a strong record over five decades of taking brands onto media for the first time and growing them into household names. We also have long-standing principles – transparency; a spirit of partnership with clients and media owners; a belief in developing all-round media people outside of silos – coupled with always being future-facing by reinventing the business to reflect the ever-changing media landscape. JAA people are empowered and rewarded to be entrepreneurial and curious. Yet they are supported by the senior leadership to become the best they can be. There is so much opportunity that for new starters one year at JAA is equivalent to two years at other agencies in what you will learn and be exposed to.

Duties
1) Responsibility for helping your team on your assigned clients:-
  • Work collaboratively to support your Executive and other senior members of your team.
  • You will be expected to become competent in the following attributes in the following:
- Technical knowledge (media planning/buying/research/software and systems).
The expectation in technical knowledge is that you will get to know the basics of the following:
o How to plan and buy social, TV, radio, print and OOH campaigns and understand all the measurements and calculations in planning campaigns such as 1+ coverage, 4+ coverage, GRPs, cover curves, frequency.
o You will become adept at using some of the JAA planning systems (internal) and some of the syndicated research systems (Telmar-TGI, Nielsen Addynamix, MediaOcean, Similar Web and others that JAA may subscribe to)
o You will be able to set-up and monitor campaigns on self-serve platforms on either Facebook and Google.
- Servicing your clients (account handling)
- Ability to write and present information succinctly and coherently to clients in meetings. Show evidence that their writing skills are proficient including accuracy, and tone
- Administrative and financial competence, precision and punctuality.
2) Servicing and developing your accounts
  • Working collaboratively with the senior members of your team you will start to develop your own skills and provide your clients with
- effective and innovative media planning.
- competitive media buying and negotiation.
- punctual response to client briefs / requests & ensuring deadlines are met.
- accuracy in plans, reports, estimates & data provided to client.
- financial administration which includes dealing with accounts queries, ensuring billing runs go smoothly, submitting forecasts on time.
- high standards in appearance /presentation of documents and other written .communications to clients
- Building strong personal relationships with client team members at their equivalent level.
- proactively suggest new initiatives / ideas to your colleagues and your clients.
  • Relationships
- build relationships and collaborate with media owners and creative agencies.
- collaborate and build relationships with internal JAA teams – eg TV Buying; digital services and accounts.
- look to move client team members beyond ‘happy with JAA service’ to ‘commit to JAA’.
- be aware of the need for confidentiality in business dealings both internally and externally.
3) Personal development
  • You will be developed by going on the following courses:
- the Media Circle course and/or IPA Foundation Course.
- Google Ads Certification and Facebook Blueprint certified.
- IPA Effectiveness Essentials Certificate or Digital Performance Certificate.
- Online MediaOcean, Kantar TGI, Ad Intel, ProSimilarWeb and Pathmatics.
- reading widely around the subject in trade press and on WARC.com.
  • Relationship building
- actively build relationships externally across creative agencies/media
- owners/clients and key opinion formers.
