One of the winner #VogueChallenge Interview on British Vogue Zuzana Valla’s day-to-day reality changed dramatically last week, when a friend sent her the #VogueChallenge, the viral social-media phenomenon that invites readers to create their own magazine covers. After finishing her part-time job as an improvement technologist for Premier Foods – whereby she trials alternative ingredients to make sure Mr Kipling’s cakes taste exceedingly good – Valla stayed up all night to select a picture from her personal photography portfolio for her submission. The placement of the Vogue logo proved tricky in the early hours, but Valla’s work – an image of twins Leah and Chloe Barnes wearing masks and pale tailoring by Two Point Two – struck a chord with Edward Enninful. Upon seeing that her cover had made the editor-in-chief’s list of favourites, Zuzu screamed, ran to her housemate, and asked her to verify the accomplishment, before they promptly shrieked with sheer joy together.
